Android Adds Their Own Music Service
Android, the only competitor that Apple has in the mobile phone and tablet industry announced today that they’ve created their own music service. This doesn’t surprise anyone as the only thing that was bringing the majority of people back to their iPhones was that they could purchase music on the go and listen to their new favorite song. Certain applications allowed you to do this on an Android Phone or Tablet but would often result in poor sound quality, parts of the songs being removed and more.
Rumors suggested that Android would be revealing their first music service within the next couple of days. You will find a wide array of songs available on Android, all main stream songs are currently available on their music service while Indy songs still remain mainly on iTunes. In order to use the Android Music Service you will need to go to the Google Play Store, Touch the Music Store Button and then choose from thousands of songs.
Head of Development at Android, Sundar Pichai commented on the announcement saying: “We have been working on creating our own music service for the last two years. The main issue while creating this music service was finding artists who wanted to be promoted on Android. It wasn’t like the artists rejected us but we had to get hundreds of artists to agree to be on our music platform. This is why it took us a considerably long time to create and release our Music Store to the world.”
